No matter how many totes I collect, I always seem to need just one more. With farmer’s market season kicking off here in New England, a good tote has to pull double duty—carrying my everyday essentials while being sturdy enough to haul home fresh produce, handmade goodies, and whatever treasures I stumble upon.
So, when I couldn’t find the perfect bag, I did what every crocheter does—I made one. Enter the Blair Tote Bag, the perfect blend of practicality, durability, and handmade charm.

The Yarn!
For my Blair Tote, I opted for Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in the Dragonfly colorway—a deep, rich teal that is just so gorgeous! Its mercerized finish makes it extra durable, ensuring my bag can withstand countless market trips while maintaining its sheen.
Want to switch it up? Other great options include:
Caron All Day Cotton
Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream
Loops & Threads Classic Cotton
Premier Yarns Cotton Sprout
Heads up! The last three alternatives aren’t mercerized, so while they’ll still work, they may not look quite the same.
Construction
The bag is worked in one piece holding the yarn double, for added strength. No seams to strain at the base of the bag nor the straps. Plus, there are only two ends to weave in this way!

Customization
The 24/7 cotton line offers a stunning selection of colors, so you can craft a bag that fits your style.
Here are a few fun ways to mix it up:
Go neutral for a chic, goes-with-everything tote.
Try bold hues to make a statement.
Make the decorative band pop with a contrasting second color.
Play with color blocking—bright on the bottom, neutral at the top.
Whatever palette you choose, your Blair Tote will be as unique as you are.
