We usually think of crocheted or knitted scarves as a cool/cold weather accessory, something to keep you cozy & warm. But I wanted to make one for the summer season. Something that can take you from the heat of outside to the coolness of those air conditioned offices or stores. That's how the Profile Scarf was designed!

The Yarn!
This pattern was originally designed with Lion Brand Comfy Cotton, a worsted weight cotton blend yarn, which has since been discontinued. Staying in the cotton blends family good substitutes could be Lion Brand Local Grown Cotton or Caron Cotton Cakes. Using either of these yarns means your scarf is still a great summer make. If you are looking to make the scarf more appropriate for the cooler month, I've made it with Lion Brand Heartland. And Lion Brand Mandala would also make a beautiful scarf.
If you are not a fan of acrylic yarn, use a worsted weight wool or other natural fiber blend for the scarf.
Construction
The Profile Scarf is crocheted side to side, where you will increase stitches on every row for half the scarf and once you've reached the midpoint will then be decreasing every row. Designed with an easy to memorize stitch repeat that gives the scarf a ribbed look it will be a breeze for the experience crocheter and a great to project for the beginner to expand their skills.

Customization
Switching up the yarn can completely transform the look!
Go for a solid color for a classic and timeless appeal.
Try a self-striping yarn to create a bold, eye-catching effect.
Your creativity makes each piece one of a kind!
